What Your Membership Supports
Your annual subscription goes directly towards running the SLWA's programme of events and funding the Education Scheme — a registered UK charity that provides grants to disadvantaged women and girls in Sri Lanka.
Members gain access to a warm and active community of Sri Lankan women in the UK, with regular social, cultural, and charitable events throughout the year.
The annual subscription is recommended by the Executive Committee and ratified at the AGM each year. It runs from 1st January to 31st December. Once your application is received, the Membership Secretary will contact you to arrange payment.
Join annual celebrations including Founder's Day, National New Year, and the Christmas Party — plus the sponsored walk each summer.
Your subscription helps fund grants for women and girls in Sri Lanka, supporting schooling, university, and vocational training.
As a member, you are part of organisations affiliated to the International Alliance of Women and the Commonwealth Countries League.
Every pound raised at SLWA events goes to our beneficiary charities — including Save the Children, LEPRA, and Halfway Home, Mulleriyawa.
General members have full voting rights at the Annual General Meeting, held each spring at the Sri Lanka High Commission in London.
